How Nature's Solution Came to Be:
A Journey to Hair Growth
Hello, my name is Maci Wright, Owner and Founder of Natures Solution, I am from a small town in Northeast Texas and was diagnosed with alopecia areata my freshman year of highschool. What started with a quarter-sized bald patch, turned into a SIX year long battle with not only my hair, but my self-image, and my reputation amongst my peers. What can seem so small and insignificant at the time can take root and forever change your life in such unforeseen ways, when the first spot appeared I did not treat it with much concern, I had always had very strong and thick hair and as a 14 year old girl, I would have never imagined being completely bald would be a reality of mine in just a few short years. The first voice of concern came from my hairdresser who advised me to see a dermatologist as she suspected it could be a form of alopecia, and which I did and ultimately confirmed her suspicions, as I was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata, a hair loss disease with no known cures that stems from disfunction in the immune system as a result of stress. I was devastated, but hopeful to start the recommended treatment options. I started with a topical solution for my scalp, which yielded no results, if anything only further damaged my head from the amount of chemicals added to the solution. The next step in my treatment efforts was injected medicine, the treatment would require I had 100 shots in my head every month, along side a steroid shot in my hip. And these results again were negligible at best while the side effects were overwhelming, and on top of this I was also prescribed a chemo pill at the time, which further suppressed my immune system in an attempt to "reset it". The injections would cause me to become ill the following days after receiving them due to my compromised immune system and also irregulated my hormones causing me to experience excessive weight gain, both of which very negatively impacted my mental health. However I continued this practice for years until finally it came to a head, as my dermatologist told me I could no longer come back for treatment and that my hair did not have a chance to be restored. I was beyond crushed, as any highschool girl would be, to endure the pain and suffering of the rigorous treatments and sickness only to be told "it's not possible" by the doctors that were supposed to have all the answers. After this I continued to live my life trying to mask what I thought were my inadequacies, I wore wigs and hats, and didn't let my condition stop me from pursuing my goals, but was always sure to conceal what I could. I'm sure many of you reading this right now already know this, but a battle with hair loss is not a battle of trying to grow your hair back, it is a battle of your own self image, of not letting what's on top of your head dictate the confidence in which you carry yourself, the battle of hair loss is the battle of being okay if it never comes back.

This is what caused me to start my own research and not take the doctors prognosis as the finality of my hair journey! By this time, I was through highschool and had completed my associate's degree, so decided to take some time off of school to research and try to grow my hair, as well as explore a business opportunity I had at the time to take over and continue my grandmother's local clothing boutique. I initially researched diets that helped with auto-immune diseases and found that keto looked to have amazing results in some instances, however when I attempted it, by the second month it had caused more hair to fall out, in my best estimate, most likely due to the fat burning nature of ketosis. I then looked into herbal medicines as well as different methods for managing stress, such as meditation, red light therapy, aromatherapy and cryotherapy; this is when I found out about hair oiling, hydrating and scalp stimulating. I then began to dive into research regarding different types of oils, their properties regarding hair rejuvenation, and how or if they would have complications when interacting with other oils. I started mixing and experimenting with different oils and ratios, taking into consideration a multitude of factors such as: hair growth (length), volume added, strength of hair, stress levels, inflammation in the head, any irritation produced from the oils, and new hair growth, from this vast amount of research, I was able to curate and finalize the current formula you will find in our Hydrating Hair Spray and our Oil Hair Growth Serum.
